South Florida Areas Listed Among Worst Cities for Singles

When it comes to living as a single, some South Florida areas aren’t the place to be.

Finding love is difficult, but it may prove to be even harder if you are located in the areas that made WalletHub’s latest best and worst cities for singles in the United States list, where Tampa, Las Vegas, Atlanta, Seattle, and Pittsburgh were among the Top 5.

While Miami surprisingly landed at #15 despite it’s incredible nightlife and social scene, Fort Lauderdale landed at #47. Miami also earned the dubious title of being named the worst city for online dating in the country.

Ouch.

Fort Lauderdale is not alone, nor is Miami, as Hialeah clocked in at 177th and Pembroke Pines made the list ranked 158th.

Doral didn’t make the list at all, despite the hard work the city has done to attract young professionals and in evolving their nightlife scene.

So when it comes to dating, perhaps South Florida doesn’t rank the best, but it’s hard to wrap your head around the “why” given the unique culture, vibrant nightlife, and booking professional energy that embodies one of the most popular travel destinations in the United States.

Perhaps someone at WalletHub needs to spend some time in South Florida when evaluating the area for next year’s list.
