The report goes on to say that Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport said that holiday travelers arriving in personal vehicles led to the closure and that there is no more room for cars in the numerous garages and spaces throughout the airport.
However, overflow parking lots are now open but it is important to note that they are off-property and will require significant extra time for travelers to utilize, so be prepared if you have travel plans this weekend.
The overflow parking address is 1661 SW 40th Street in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and there is a shuttle bus transferring travelers from the lot to the airport. There are several other private lots within the area that also provide shuttle services to and from the airport, but it’s important to inquire about parking and any associated shuttle fees.
